The Military Police are a unique branch of the US Army — while the infantryman
fights, it is the MP’s often thankless job to enforce military law in the field,
safeguard important personnel or valuable material, and see to the proper care
and disposition of enemy prisoners of war. US Army 8th Infantry Division MP
Lou Torres is ready to do just that. Outfitted with his unique MP
helmet and brassard, his duty whistle and Thompson M1A1 Submachine gun at the
ready, Lou Torres represents a classic MP corporal of the Pathfinder
Division in Brittany 1944. Ordered to clear Brittany’s Crozon Peninsula of enemy
activity as Autumn 1944 approached, the mighty 8th Division accomplished the
mission in only four days — capturing over 7,000 enemy prisoners of war in
the process. A difficult logistical situation for any army, but DML’s MP Lou
Torres will get the job done!
